"The Tower of Beetle" was made ten years ago.
I was interested how to change a past vision by my imagination now.
And I newly added taste of the German expressionism such as Dr.Caligari
Modeled and rendered with Shade, ZBrush (Man's face model)
The composition, the tonal correction and the background
were made with Photoshop.
"The Tower of Beetle"
Man, I could’ve sworn that I had left a comment on this piece before, or at least one of your previous works, but ultimately that doesn’t look to be the case. Oh well, maybe this IS the first time I’ve come across your work in the eight years or so that it’s been here on DA.
And perhaps it’s no wonder why it’s lasted so long, given the wildly surreal, impeccably detailed, unnerving look of the entire thing. From the cross-haired laser eye to the intricate gears, strings, fans and other oddities holding this clockwork being together, you could inspect this unique creature a hundred times and still potentially find something you’d have never seen before.
Could definitely imagine a print of this staring at everybody and imploring them to use their mind, with the sternest, most stoic expression on their face. It’s hard to ignore the level of effort and the attention-to-detail that went into creating this piece-by-piece, and the result is one incredibly unique, steampunk-inspired work of true art. Amazing job!
I can't imagine the polycount of this amazing model!
Oh yes I can, this is so awesome!
